Visit to the Athens Olympic Stadium
What an amazing, unforgettable time we all had when we visited the Olympic Stadium (OAKA) in Athens for a day filled with sports. During our visit the children tried several different sports and got to feel like Olympic athletes. Wrestling, trampolining, hockey, table tennis, archery, target-shooting and football were just some of the sports that the children had a go at, leaving them both thrilled and exhausted. Following a guided tour around the massive Stadium, which hosted the Athens 2004 Olympics, the children talked about the modern and ancient Olympic games and about Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympics. They also had the chance to look at the cauldron where the flame was kept alight during the Games. At the end of the day we received an unexpected yet very pleasant surprise - our children won the award for the best behaviour of all the schools that have visited the stadium. Truly an achievement to be proud of! Hats off to our children, who were all brilliant!
